Please show your ID’s when coming in late or returning from an appointment.

  • No fast-food orders of any kind are to be delivered to students.  This includes parents drop offs, door dash, uber eats, grub hub, and having a friend bring it to you or you bring in fast food when you return to school, etc.
  • Attendance is now located in the Aux Office across from the office by the vending machines.
  • When leaving with a green pass from attendance you need to check out with the Attendance office.
  • Student parking is on the west side of the building.  The east side is for staff and visitors.  Students, please park in your appropriate parking lot so we have enough parking for staff, visitors and substitutes.
  • If you go into the cafeteria for breakfast after 7:40 am, please ring the doorbell to get service.  Breakfast is served until 9:15 am.
  • Hey Hey Hey!  StuCo invites you to be a part of the Orange Army!  Pre-Order an Orange Army class t-shirtduring all three lunches in the mall for $10 – first orders will be taken until Tomorrow  Sept. 4.  See Junior Shay Perry or Mrs. Dent in Room 230 with questions!
  • Kansas City Art Institute is coming September 8 during Seminar.  Please sign up in Flex under college visit, Mrs. Terryberry Rm 9.
  • Apply to Be a Writing Center Tutor - Juniors and Seniors: Are you interested in serving as a peer tutor in the Writing Center this year? Need additional service hours and enjoy tutoring others at Northwest? We are excited to recruit and train teams of AMAZING students willing to help their fellow writers during seminar in room 126. Follow THIS LINK  to start the application process. NOTE: if you were a tutor last year, YES, you still must fill out the application. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Anthony or Mrs. Titus. DEADLINE Friday, Sept. 11th at 3pm. 
  • It's Bonfire Time! - Show your school spirit by dressing up for bonfire week! 
    Thursday is Throwback Thursday. Friday is Flip Flop Day. 
  • Club day will be on Thursday, September 10th in the mall from 7:40 to 8:30 all school-sanctioned clubs are welcome to participate.    Please have your adult sponsor sign up for a table.   This is a fun event and a great way to get involved at NW and find a place to belong.
  • Freshman! Get involved in your school! The freshman cheer squad needs you! Next week, on September 8th and 9th, we will be holding another tryout for our Winter squad! Join us on Tuesday from 3:00-6:00 to learn tryout material. Then on Wednesday, tryouts will begin after school at 3:00. See you there!
  • eSchool:  Any class credits that you want to make up or would you like to take a class to get ahead on your credits.  eSchool fall is open for enrollment and offers several courses.  Enrollment runs through September 10th and cost is $180 a course.  Be sure to speak to your counselor if you are interested. 
  • College Representatives will be visiting Northwest throughout the school year to meet with students and answer questions about their schools, starting next week! Check out the College Advising Board outside of the main office for upcoming visit dates and sign up for the visits that you’re interested in through the SMNW College Planning website. Once you sign up, Ms. McGee will create your pass to attend the visit during the scheduled time.
  • All students are invited to attend the Shawnee Mission College Clinic on Wednesday, September 16, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Shawnee Mission East High School. This is a great opportunity to meet with representatives from colleges, universities, and trade schools from across the country, ask questions, and explore your post-high-school options.
